Latanna Stone, 10, qualifies

Latanna Stone is 4 feet, 8 inches and weighs less than 100 pounds. She's also just 10 years old. Even more remarkable, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur. Stone shot 70 with the discount golf clubs to win medalist honors and lead six other U.S. Women's Amateur qualifiers July 13 at the Wanderers Club in Wellington, Fla., according to golfweek.com. According to Golfweek, Stone, of Valrico, Fla., is the youngest qualifier for the Women's Amateur scheduled for Aug. 6-12 at the Country Club in Cleveland. Allisen Corpuz, who qualified for the 2008 WAPL at 10 years and 3 months old, is the youngest qualifier for a U.S. Golf Association event. Stone, who turns 11 in September, has won more than 100 tournaments, according to the Florida State Golf Association.
