The biggest change from 2012 will see the Valero Texas Open move to the week before the Masters. The tournament was played two weeks after it this year. There will be two events in Texas following the Florida swing prior to the year's first major championship, which will be played April 11-14. The Mayakoba Golf Classic in Cancun is moving from its date opposite the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February to a fall date as part of the new wraparound schedule that will have several events kick off the new 2013-14 season. And the off week as part of the FedEx Cup playoffs is being moved to the week following the Deutsche Bank Championship, meaning there will be a break before the season concludes with the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship. This year the off week followed the BMW Championship for golfers to have a rest with their taylormade burner 2.0 irons . The 36 regular-season events begin with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, Jan. 4-7. The season-opening event will end on a Monday. The regular season concludes with the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C. in August, the week after the last major championship, the PGA Championship. For the first time, the PGA Tour's exemption categories will be determined there, with the top 125 in FedEx Cup points advancing to the playoffs and the rest for you to enjoy with your burner 2.0 irons -- unless exempt in some other fashion -- having to try to earn their PGA Tour cards back through a four-tournament series called the Web.com Tour Finals. The final event, the Tour Championship in Atlanta, is Sept. 19-22. After a week off, the Presidents Cup will be played at Muirfield Village in Ohio, site of the annual Memorial Tournament, Oct. 3-6. Another difference is the tournaments opposite the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral, the Open Championship and the WGC-Bridgestone (the Puerto Rico Open, the True South Classic and the Reno-Tahoe Open) will see a slight increase in FedEx Cup points, with the winner receiving 300 instead of 250.
