Canon's adaptation of MPEG-2 for the XF300 Professional Camcorder, named the Canon XF Codec, The XF300 supports the highest HD quality with Full HD 1920*1080 resolution, up to 50Mbps bit rate and 4:2:2 color sampling.For added versatility, XF300 can be customized to record in both 60i/50i, 60p/50p, and 24p/25p (this optional upgrade must be performed by a Canon Factory Service Center). So you will encounter the problem while importing the Canon XF300 MXF files to Adobe Premiere Pro 6.0 or its earlier versions of CS4, CS5, CS5.5, or even Premiere Elements, you may see the error "ERROR COMPILING MOVIE: UNKNOWN" coming up when exporting a movie composed of MXF clips, whether it's to AVI, H.264, etc., this error comes up, in particular when the movie is "long", i.e. a half minute to a minute.
